I contacted Adam Law after my stepson was charged with an offence and was potentially facing a custodial sentence. Ash was absolutely superb in his handling of this case. He inspired confidence from the start, gave considered advice at every stage of the proceedings, was not afraid to challenge the facts, from all perspectives, and ultimately his advice and guidance lead to a suspended sentence, an outcome we were all more than pleased with - Thankyou Ash...

Avoid wasting your time with Adam Law.

I wrote them a detailed email and sent it two weeks ago. They did not reply.

I followed up with a phone call today. After speaking to a receptionist who clearly struggled to grasp the basics of what I was asking, I was passed to a solicitor i think, a partner maybe, but I could be, and hope I was, wrong.

Throughout the call no-one seemed to be able to even comprehend that the email had been sent and they might have missed it. Checking their inbox from 15 days ago was clearly way to advanced for them, as the logic I met confirmed.

The receptionist asked me to describe my enquiry, I had already said that it was complicated situation so would rather not have to, unless I was speaking to a legal professional not a receptionist.

I went on to say this was the reason I spent care and time writing the email in the first place and that it would be better and less painful to find my correspondence. She still couldn't grasp the logic so i gave a brief summary and ask to be transferred to a legally trained member of staff.

I was passed to S Bashir, maybe Mrs / Ms? It sounded like she was on speaker in a very loud cafe or a nuts and bolts factory such was the cacophony in the background.

She went on to confirm that she / they had not received any email. Once again there was no, i'll check, bare with me ... or pause to suggest they actually looked for it. No hint at possible culpability or any contrition it may have warranted

I asked her to confirm i had used the right recipient which she did. She went on to say 'but thats only a generic address'... What ever that means ... we're not to fussed about checking the generic inbox maybe, or we think you must have sent it to the wrong place was the inference it gave me.

The 'boss' screens all emails and forward them to me, she explained. She prevaricated further, seemingly trying to imply that he must not have received it.

Baffled by my treatment and their responses now, I suggested sending it again and that maybe sending directly to her might be a good idea. She agreed and I did.

After about 20 seconds she said, no nothing's come through. Normally they come through fast. Oh no, here it is...

By this point my faith in their handing the complications of sending and receiving emails made me wonder how anything more tricky might be dealt with. This was shortly confirmed unequivocally.

Ok I've got that now, I'll have a look and get back to you if we can help.

Ummm, so .. Can I ask if you will get back to me and let me know if you can't help me? - And, is there any chance you might be able to read my email now?

She agreed and did so but gave the impression of duress.

No, I'm sorry but we cant help you (and referring to my initial enquiry) said:

It's a bit too complicated, there's loads of dates and stuff!

... and things happening, some of them not nice. We dont get involved with anything difficult because we can't do it...! - was my imaginary next line for her.

I'm tired of this being a pattern with so called legal professionals such those employed by Adam Law. They are further proof of the prevalence of second rate solicitors who cherry pick easy cases and run a mile when the see that their abilities are out stripped and no match for the slightest whiff of complexity.

I shall leave this matter in the hands of the SRA.
