Please save yourself the stress and DO NOT use Gilson Gray.

EDIT: Because the issues still arent over half a year later!

Randomly contacted 4 months after settling in saying we need to pay more to have the property registered to us for the compliance. Note theres no invoice or explanation, reads more like a scam email.

Multiple emails sent and a month waiting and still no updates on our queries about the fact they are asking for us to pay again for something thats already on our invoice but we technically dont have our names on properly because this company is probably the worst company ive ever had the displeasure of working with any any capacity. The fact you pay so much money for these incompetent people to just not handle a single thing properly is disgusting.

Furthermore, the management company Pinnacle have been contacting this company since we moved in for something about the membership and have still yet to handle that either.

Just seriously DO NOT GO WITH GILSON GRAY

Original Review:

We were supposed to have Dominic as our guy. The only time any progress was made was when he was on holiday (If they get a commission please give it to Jemima who was lovely). Otherwise it was dreadful with 0 communication and forms just weren't being sent out and nothing responded to.

When there's around 6 different people from all parties trying to contact Gilson over several days using different methods and no one can get an answer it's disgusting that they can even be allowed to charge for this "service".

I'm pretty certain our conveyancer is genuinely fictional and is Gilson Greys attempt at using AI in the workforce. If it's not, consider replacing them with AI, chat GPT was more helpful throughout our lack of support while our conveyancer hid under his desk to avoid phone calls, especially as first time buyers who came in knowing nothing.

Update 3 months in:

THEY NEVER SENT KEY INFORMATION TO THE COMPANY THAT OWNS THE FLAT. So it's not been in our name.

We call up, get put on hold AND THEY HANG UP ON YOU.

Completely disgusting service.

Do not use these solicitors - unprofessional and unreliable and do not transact in good faith. After taking on a straightforward conveyancing case and wasting our time collecting all documents, decided after 3 weeks that they were now "too busy" to proceed and told us to find someone else and start again. I regret not checking their ratings before, which are unsurprisingly poor.

Gilson Gray was recommended by the estates agent so that they would get their commission. The lack of communication and the little care shown to clients is shocking. As a first time buyer new to the process we were very excited and eager. Phone calls and emails ignored even after the 48 hours period listed on Leanne's email. If I had been told the stages/process and where we were up to, I wouldn't have been asking for an update. I complained about communication which was never addressed. Marie, the operational manger professionalism was some what lacking. Essentially, our Mortgage Offer had not come through from the lender and my partner chased the lender who had already issued this. My partner advised them of this and the response was 'I told you I would do it and Leanne's not lying' which we never accused Leanne of doing. Once the offer was through it was a blunt email to let us know and our complaint was not addressed. The whole process from start to finish was abysmal and I expected better from a law firm.
