Charged over 10,000 gbp in Solicitor charges just to get rushed, substandard work. We had Abeer Sharma and Victoria Copeman work on our case. After 3 months of rushed work, letters full of typos and lack of detail oriented work, we got a barristers opinion that ended up contradicting their initial letter of advice. I see on other review platforms that feedback on this firm is similar with regards to rushed work without paying attention to detail. They would withhold key details about legal fees till after the fact. Abeer also left Hanne and co while handling our case, and despite assurances, the handover of information was not done in a quality manner and just cost us more money to get Victoria up to speed with little additional utility, meanwhile we had to pay exorbitant amounts for simple letters and guidance. My advice: find a more professional firm to represent you.

I was referred internally to Steven Bannell after previously having a good experience with the firm.

Despite knowing all the facts of my property transfer, 1 month after initial contact and monies paid, Steven said he had misunderstood the details of my property transaction and actually could not take on my case.

He was contradictory, defensive and lacked empathy when I followed this up. After some back and forth I did eventually receive a refund of my deposit, but was told I could not be refunded the outstanding amounts for other checks, as he suggested this was due to my own fault.

Unfortunately he would not budge on his position of not being liable or returning the money, so I wrote a formal complaint. The next day I received an email with an apology from Steven and also stating that the outstanding monies owed will be fully refunded to me.

Glad I advocated for myself to get resolution on this matter and would not recommend Steven due to the unnecessary stress and unprofessionalism. In addition to the above issue, I found the work to be sloppy overall; slow replies, questionnaires had contained other clients personal information etc.

Very efficient and friendly service from Steven and Clara, and I would definitely use them again for future conveyancing.

Nothing went wrong and the purchase was completed as quickly as was possible. Steven was always available and helpful/reassuring on the phone whenever I needed to call. Both Steven and Clara have a high level of customer service skills. The searches were thorough and I felt everything was being done in the safest and most secure way possible. Also, Hanne&Co. systems leave almost no scope for fraud/scams when it comes to high value transactions.

The one improvement that I thought could be made in future would be to be even more clear about items of service which may attract an additional fee for more complex conveyancing transactions. I accrued some additional charges because of the more complex nature of the purchase. This was all very clear in the Terms and Conditions that were sent to me in writing, however, I had just skimmed through this and it hadn't been in the front of my mind.

So maybe a verbal warning so that the potential for extra fees is made as clear as possible would improve the service even more.
