Emailed Sutton Mattocks Chiswick for assistance with the sale of a freehold. I got no response to my email. I then called and left a voicemail for Sandy and asked for a call back but again no response. Really disappointed with their service. We were also hoping for help with the sale and purchase of a property but glad we found out beforehand that they would be dreadful to use.

Unfortunately I had the misfortune of having to deal with Sutton Mattocks. We were selling our leasehold flat and SM were the solicitor for our landlord. We had some changes needed to the lease so we were forced to use the landlords solicitor for those. initially we asked for a quote, we were given the quote but it was not very clear what it included, so we asked repeatedly what was included to which they would only reply that they could not tell us until we pay them the fees. How can you expect us to pay for the fee if we do not know what it is for!?

Subsequently we were forced to pay the fee not knowing what it included. Once we paid they were excruciatingly painful to deal with. Taking weeks to reply to emails and completely ignoring our deadlines we had to deal.

I tried to make a complaint, to which it was completely ignored. Their communication is very poor and I hope to never have to deal with them again. This review only scratches the surface of all the things they did wrong.

If I had the time I would take the issue to the legal ombudsman, but I think they rely on the fact that people don't want the stress of having to do so.

Jonathan, Helen and Debra really are outstanding. I have bought and sold three properties with Sutton Mattocks and it’s always a flawless, worry-free process. Jonathan is very knowledgeable, is always calm but firm and can find a solution to any challenges (one transaction of sale and purchase took place right at the start of the covid pandemic and looked like it might fail… but Jonathan found a way round that). He and his team are organised, professional and efficient - he has a wealth of knowledge and provides regular succinct updates. He is also exceedingly pleasant to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend them!
